lol valks were the worst anti air unit by FAR. there attack only worked about 1% of the time. the rest of the time they would lag/glitch and not attack or do 0 damage.

Thats because you suck, don't blame the unit.

1 day around here not really a necro, don't feel too bad

1 - the only time corsairs were massed is if you were doing reaver/sair pvz, in which case it was for their dweb ability.
2 - you would never really 'mass' sair in any other circumstance, you could use them for support vs muta but muta scourge kinda pooped on them, the other use was for dweb against terran which was pretty rare
3 - devourers sucked zvz, if you were going to go hive you get defilers for plague
4 - valkyries were way better anti air than sair but sair had more versatility
5 - phoenix are stupid concept of a unit, their lift was meant to be kind of like the oracle harass but since because of their design they're either way too good vs muta ( hots ) or complete shit ( wol ).

If you go like double stargate with the fleet beacon upgrade reactively in wol then you just lose. The reason they're so good in hots is that you can go them reactively and pretty easily defend all your bases. Or you can just open them in HoTS and transition to VR later since there's really no negative to that.

Infestors not being as good in HoTS also plays a big role in why Phoenix>Muta. In WoL if you tried to counter muta with phoenix they would just either mass enough muta to basetrade and deny your third forever ( could mix in some corrupters to actually fight the phoenix too ), or would just get infestors and kill you.

Careful, kids that haven't stepped outside of brood war UMS will try and shit on you for thinking that corsairs are anything but ridiculously OP with their "super fast splash damage"
