there is nothing wrong with this.

you don't need special builds for each race, just do same opening with a smooth transition into what you need to do.

got a friend that 18 cc's every game into 2 rax with add on every game.

and he is plat too clay?:D

Sure. In every non PvX matchup, it's ok to lose units constantly, trade units, lose economy etc. In any protoss matchup, losing units is basically game over. Protoss generally needs all game to build up units and tech. If you can kill a Protoss army once, you've generally won the game, or are way ahead. Late game, protoss can throw zealots and stuff away. But in the early-mid game, protoss is extremely fragile. 1 bad blink, forcefield or engagement and it's game over. The units are relatively slow, so positioning is very key. Despite forcefields being very good. If you don't have great forcefields, you're toast. And for a new player, with low apm, a lot of games can be lost very easily. I realize that at higher levels, once protoss have mastered forcefielding etc you can make different arguements. But, forcefields are basically a crutch to the race.

Another thing is that, any early game pressure screws up protoss completely most of the time. Especially if you can kill off sentries or stalkers.

Against roaches? It's horrible. Against banelings? It's pretty shit. Against emp? it's pretty top notch oh wait.

Zealot archon has a timing window, and then if you don't transition out you're in trouble. EMP is really good vs that composition, as long as T or Z scout what you're doing. I feel like with Zealot archon you need to be ahead on econ too =\ Unless you mean going HT/Storm into zealot archon.

Is zerg really restricted only to those really good at the game already?

The playstyle of zerg interests me, it's just I feel at this stage I would do much better as a toss or terran.

No. Go with what interests you. It's a bit more counter-intuitive to learn but the race holds a lot of potential that people have yet to explore.

lol so does terran.. and protoss. nobody utilizes ravens or banshees half as much as they should. you know how terrans snipe observers so their cloaked ghosts can go in and emp? why not for banshees too?

They do this at higher levels if they're doing banshee builds, such as mech ^. Thor raven banshee sir.

there has never been an important broadcasted game that involved thor raven banshee. unless it was jinro back in nam.

/e back in the day, I would incorporate cloaked banshees tvp (and made it work, beating my friend who was much better than me consistently because of it). when I suggested it on jsp, everyone got so angry because the pros don't do it... but it works, you just have to change your play a little bit.

I agree, the raven is the most underused unit in SC2. And seeing more mid/late game banshees is something that I've always talked about. But I still feel that Zerg (due to the uniqueness of the larva mechanic) has an overwhelming amount of potential that hasn't begun to be explored yet.
