You're adding your own twist. Myself and the majority of the RTS community plays competitive RTS matches in a series. My point has nothing to do with skill or duration, only that you need to play a series before you can justify saying "I smashed you." I'm not talking about the specifics of the game whatsoever.
You were talking exactly about the duration of the game in the previous thread where these quotes were found.
You directly said that because I eat bianka in less than 8 minutes, it does not show that I was better than him because anyone can win under 8 minutes cause it takes no skill. Something of that sort is exactly what you said.
Less Game Length = Less skill -- This was the argument we were speaking of before and it's not going to change to something different now because we are talking about it again.
The majority of the RTS community that plays RTS does not ALWAYS play matches in a series.
There is a such thing as "Best of 1". And a lot of people do it until you get out of a certain round to get into Best of 3, then 5, and so forth.
You're telling me that me beating everyone in a Best of 1 THEN losing to Fenix also in a best of 1 shows that Fenix is not better than me? From that game alone, I could tell that hes better than me and that I am clearly better than the kids that I've beaten previously. It's about the sense of the game, you know what type of mistake your opponent is going to make, so you have to make it a reality and not let that mistake get away.
You and everyone else is not the majority. It's the people who are hosting tournaments. You only got comfortable of playing in a series to believe that it has to be more than one game to take "skill".
I AGREE with you that you have to play more than a best of 1 to "clearly prove" that you are better player, because a mistake is a mistake and it can cost you one game.
But, before hand, you were arguing that less duration = less skill. And this is where my response came in, the response was directed exactly towards defending your theory of "less duration = less skill".
You keep strapping yourself into thinking that "I WANT to prove that I am better than bianka." I've told you twice already, that was not my intention, and because you think that is what I am trying to do, I am here telling you twice already that it isn't.
Read the preceding wall of text, the one that you ignored, then you will see the whole explanation in summary.
