read some negative words so i stopped reading but i will try to make this retard-proof
i am playing my friend in a 1 on 1 in basketball. i get the ball first, run it down the court and dunk it in his face. the score is 2-0, and i declare the game is over and i win.
its so simple. im saying your 1 game doesn't justify saying things like "i smashed you," just like me dunking the ball in your face and ending the game before it should be over
Okay. I will try not to use the negative words, but this time, take liberty in reading my wall of texts.
You are playing your friend in a 1 on 1 in basketball, you got the ball first and dunked it in his face -- giving you the lead. You declare victory on your own terms, and not by a set of score or time.
I am playing Bianka, and the declared winner is the one who applies himself upon the mistakes of his opponents, then beating him for his mistakes.
Here is the situation I am trying to explain: You dribble the ball down, so you are making the first push. In his regard, he has to defend or have you make a mistake. So in his attempt, if he failed to defend you from dunking, then he loses.
Clearly you know who is better, but of course, it doesn't end right there. It's only 1 play, and you both declared the score to end the game at the score of 2. Other than that, if you yourself declared victory, then you would be doing what you think I was doing.
In my terms, we are playing Starcraft II. Bianka makes the first push, and in my regard I have to defend or beat him for his mistakes. So he pushes, and I found the flaw in his mistake.
So the game didn't end right there! [ Basically I am in your friends position and Bianka is you ]. I successfully defended you from dunking onto me. Now I have possession of the ball and choose to make a push. Now he's in the defending position, he either defends, capitalize on my mistake, then gain the advantage. He was unable to do that, thus making me the winner.
So it doesn't matter if the game is 8 minutes or 30 minutes, it's all equivalent in skill. Having the game duration longer is only being to continue recovering from your mistakes and making the opposing player make a mistake, exactly the same thing in basketball.
You are playing 1 game, timed, and when it's over it is over. Those are the rules of Basketball and these are the rules of Starcraft II.
So how are you saying that "playing in a bo1 does not show that you have more skill than him." Playing in a bo3 only shows you that you make less mistakes than he does, but all in all, it does not mean that it takes no skill.
Your argument was Less Duration = Less skill. This is what we are arguing about, not who is "the better player from a bo1/3/5." And as I said before, I was not TRYING to prove that I am better than him if you just took the moment to read I wouldn't have to perform another wall of text.
Edit:
Show to me that I am wrong, because when I argued with Schlag and he made that big response, I was like "damn that hurts" because a lot of things he said was true.
