I find zerg and terran the hardest
Z > T > P
Not much really changes in SC. Raine is right, Z takes a higher function of control and fundamental understanding of the entire game than what P/T require to hit M/GM. That being said, it's not by any means easy to get their with P/T just because it's slightly easier than Z. I'm sure most P/T players who have been at this level for awhile have just as much of an understanding of the game as their Z counterparts at this point, but that could have come months after of already being in M or GM, while a Z player would never be able to reach M without those skills in place to begin with. (well, most wouldn't. I was never a Z player but I think I remember a guy who cheesed to masters in WoL with Z doing the exact same build every single game). Mastery of any race on SC is highly commendable and honestly awe-inspiring to a noob like myself. But even a noob like myself can understand and agree with where Raine is coming from.
Edit - I played Protoss when I did play. I have no delusions about my race. The fact that I wasn't able to get out of plat in singles playing Toss is a testament in itself of how terrible I was at SC and one of the main reasons I quit. I didn't know the race was broken/easy when I started playing, I never copied OP build orders when they showed up, I just always played Toss since BW and I wasn't ready to switch when I moved to SC2.
