the word "metagame" referring to "common builds and strategies" is a result of the LoL community blatantly and repulsively using the word incorrectly

sick freaks

A game beyond the game. Otherwise, a game that transcends the original game.

Strategies developed predicated on the opponent's strategy (i.e. all builds) are metagame.

Nothing beyond or transcending the game predicting strategies within the game.

When you look at the clock and prepare to defend a Terran timing you're metagaming. You're anticipating the attack by virtue of external knowledge.

Builds and strategies are often dictated by what other players have been doing (in games past). The action / reaction nature to it is built off the metagame.

I don't do this. I use my units to scout when they move out. Not a shitty clock.

What is this 1944?

It's not external knowledge though. It's knowledge about the game. Metagaming is reacting to knowledge outside the game. Like the fact that the guy is color blind and can't see nuke dots.

or maybe you could just identify the full build (and not need to scout every single bit of it, because you know it?) based on the gas mined and opponent's measures taken and prepare proper counter measures not just see it's when it's coming and pray? This needs knownledge of the meta and timings in it, you need to use the clock even if you only use it to check up on how are you doing on preparing your defenses, or hitting with your timing
You clearly never played against protoss as terran, you need to know from the get go if it's going to be a blink all in or some other retarded shit, one misplaced turret costs you the game.

you are both right and wrong in this meta thing, it used to mean what you say it means but the phrase's meaning shifted, stuff change, it doesnt matter what it used to be, it matters what people use it to refer to.

I refuse to use a definition of a perfectly good word bastardized by the LoL community. Disgusting game, disgusting community.

elitism doesn't really help starcraft but slowly descends it into it's very grave.

What's elitist about sticking to the definition of a word? It has nothing to do with Starcraft. I also hate that the word "literally" now means both 'literally' and is used to "add emphasis" which could very well describe something that's not literal.

If you mean how I use words like "disgusting" and "bastardized" to describe LoL, then that shit goes both ways. But you're right. I should keep it to myself. LoL is a great game that simply caters to people with low self esteem that require the comfort of a team in order to search for games with no regard to how boring and shallow the gameplay is.

while i agree with you on league of leggings being garbage and unable to believe it's popularity, hating on it doesn't help
