I'm thinking a little bit more generally here. Muta/ling/baneling vs bio/medivac vs colossi/gateway vs roach/hydra, depending on the matchup. I'm trying to defend parting and showtime for both going stalker/disruptor since they know it's good. Some people were complaining that it's lame just like swarm host vs swarm host but I'm saying going for a good army composition is a good idea and stalker/disruptor is a lot more engaging than swarm host vs swarm host.

It's not on the players, it's the developers' job to make sure the game is at a balance point where multiple options are available. And swarm host vs swarm host is cancer, let's never compare anything to that ever again.

And there are multiple options but people play and practice the ones they think are the best so they use them in tournaments. Most of the time those options are the same because of the nature of how people learn this game...mimicking others.

Right. What I'm saying is that the developers should design the game to have multiple options that are all similarly usable and effective to create diversity of gameplay.

Wrong game, man. Just doesn't work like that at the highest levels of gameplay. There are specific counters in place to give people the tools to deal with anything if they're good enough. It's a game of execution, not creativity.
