The RTS (this does not include Mobas like lol/dota/hon, etc) comp scene is shit. Literally StarCraft 2 is the only one of... one (maybe two?) that is actually active enough to receive a decent size crowd for the competitive games. But if MLG decides to drop So I'll stand by my analogy, unless someone is going to say otherwise why I'm wrong (I don't mean to imply I'm automatically right, it's just the way I'm perceiving it currently), which I'm always open to have my opinion changed.
I was not aware that a farm was considered an animal and were capable of coprophagia.
lol your analogy is saying that all RTS games are shit because they belong to that genre (good vs bad SHIT). What happens when a company makes a gg one and tons of people play it? obviously your analogy makes no sense then.
so i could simply bring up Brood War - which was disgustingly successfully and watched like a sport in terms of competitive games - it also gave rise to esports. so you could say that all these mobas owe the starcraft universe quite a bit of thanks for setting up the foundation/acceptance of watching pro gaming. everyone i knew played sc1 when i was growing up (or at least knew of it) and just because blizzard didn't quite hit the mark with sc2, does not mean the genre is crap or hopeless - it just means there is no king on the throne at this moment. soooo, BW being in the set of RTS games (all of which you say are shit) would be a counter-example. BW is still regarded, basically, as the best RTS evar (lets not forget wc3...).
sc2 isn't even that bad...still has a great following and you can always find a game when you log in - far from 'dead'. I wouldn't disagree that it is 'dying', but there is still a flicker of hope left and condemning it to being 'shit' is just silly.
