its not harder, just more stupid due to the fact that u rely on 4 other idiots.
get a team and its pretty easy to hit diamond in lol
You can only queue with one other person

I hit diamond in a month of playing LoL and not I'm kind of stuck, got into D4 and fell back to D5 a couple times. I have so much to learn and to be really good at the game it does take a lot of skill.
SC2 is only viewed as a 'hard' game because of BW. SC2 is a easy game, extremely volatile because of low skill cap, and very repetitive. It's also pretty boring and has no social aspect at all, unlike BW. So when you compare it to a F2P game with a really entertaining competitive scene and a ton of variety then it's kind of obvious why LoL is so popular in comparison.
From a competitive player's standpoint, I'm switching to LoL because Riot cares about their players. I want to see if I can 'go pro' in 6 months. Basically that means become one of the top 40 NA players and riot pays you a shit ton of money. If you're in LCS ( equivalent of WCS in SC2 ), that's completely region locked to only NA players, Riot pays for your house and gives you a salary. There's a real opportunity to make a living from LoL that doesn't exist in SC2 for American players.
