6850 might struggle on ultra in the late game but on lower settings it would run this game fine with hundreds of framerate all game long

although if you have 500$ to spend you could upgrade it if you wanted to

and yeah just a full re-installation of windows

Right now I'm defragging and downloaded avg for malware. I'm going to see if this helps. If not I will format overnight. I appreciate everyone's input. Not sure on which video card to buy to be honest. I play all my games on low settings, but I would like great and constant fps.

I've currently got 2x 4gb sticks in. I run everything on low, at the start of the game I have 70-120 constant. It's just as the game goes on I dip to 50 then to 30~ and it becomes so brutal it's hard to play. How do I setup my ram? I think I might just grab a new card, not sure which one though

Yeah that really shouldn't be happening, especially if you run sc2 on low quality. Definitely use vertical sync, or try reinstalling sc2 but if it's freezing from just youtube then something is seriously wrong.

It doesn't freeze. But once it hits the 15+ minute mark I am almost certainly experiencing 30~ or lower fps. Every game. I realize fps should drop as more stuff is on the map, but that seems very drastic. You really think vsync on ? I thought it's better off.

download furmark and monitor your GPU's temperature then download prime95 and monitor your CPU's temperature (one at a time while the programs are running)

Why not intel?

I don't even know what a radon is.

If you're only spending 500$, just upgrade. but upgrading sucks, so u need more flow.

Tell me more about intel video cards. The processor is intel. Do you mean nvidia?

I will do this and keep you guys posted. My defrag is almost done, hopefully that helps a lot.

Well I do have a gtx 460 sitting in my closet, but I think the card I've got in right now is better.

I would just build a new comp entirely.

Build it over the next couple months if you have to, if you don't have enough cash.

That's what I'm about to do anyways.

Computers get old so fast I hate it.

Yeah seriously, they barely last two years now. The problem is I just quit my job, so my money has to last me 5months, I can't afford to dump 50-80% of my bank into a new pc haha.
