I guess we will have to agree to disagree; I don't feel that they're worth production time + gas investment for the maybe scouting they get. By the time you'd want to scout anything useful, there should be enough units to deny a reaper getting an incredibly effective scout off, or at least one that's better than a scan.

removing the upgrade for siege mode is blizzards way of telling terrans to kill protoss before they can do whatever the fuck they want and win

well, blizz mentioned that they wanted to make reapers more of an value unit in the later stages

I didn't know they said that, but it makes kind of sense. I mean, the speed increase alone might be useful in sieging mineral lines. The damage nerf might make it possible to get alot with a reactored barracks without killing harvestors too fast? I don't know.

Pretty much, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that the mere chance of reapers have pretty much changed zerg indirectly, and changes directly how tvt is played.

i dont think that the amount of reapers you could get were a problem, but their weak dps to anything despite light units and the costs of 50 gas.
it just seems that they are now only viable as early scout or as an allin strategy. sure u can make more and even faster, but it would be 100gas per rax. thats huge

Gas doesnt really matter if you're terran though.

In terms of scouting, I agree it's pretty much all it is against zerg. In terran (from what I've seen on QXC and Demuslims stream), they seem to make like 2-3 reapers, and do small pushes in the early stages, but from the timings I've seen from them, I don't think they're all-in my any means.

But when you said about hearing Browder/Blizz say they wanted to make them more useful later on, I read about that too I think from reddit. My reasonings were pretty much guesses too, I haven't seen any streamers do them.

Yes, it had. But now that there is no threat of reapers, things will revert to how they were before, a la WoL.
