That's way different. A DT transition is not what I'm advocating, but that's what Day9's phrase means. I'm saying when you have all your wonderful tech and you're basically maxed out and positioning is the biggest thing on peoples' mind...throw in cloaked units. His phrase refers to desperation tactics.
Plus I've been saying it basically since the beta...since banshees have always been my favorite SC2 unit I've always tried to think of cool ways to use them ^.^
you should actually look at some of my replays, I utilize them mostly great in my biomech tvp.
That opening includes a 1rax expand -> rush for siege tanks, have 2-3 on the high ground, allins disallowed -> get banshees fast ( i hit a standard timing with my banshees, even with the tanks out, since i build my gases(on my nat) to be ready by the second the second cc lands on the natural) -> go for a harass, make a third cc, then do a pressure at 12 minutes when i claim my third expansion ( Thor banshee siegetank marine marauder with stim/combatshield). Against templar opens, it's an autowin.
I can use banshees to snipe HTs behind the cover of a raven pdd (most protosses don't feedback the pdd somewhy, at least not in time) but if the protoss is very present with his observers and I see I can't engage with my cloak banshees on his units without srsly endangering my units, I can snipe the obs with 1-2 vikings and then proceed to do the same. Works pretty well, I just felt a bit passive, but that should've been eliminated through doing hellion drops and such, but i just left doing it recently, and just do standard in tvp, I'll wait for hots with my stuff, mech will srsly support my playstyle in hots, and it'll be cool.
