So basically it just takes time of playing? In other words, if I just play SC2 enough (say as a stress release from studies or something) I'd be a boss at SC3 (Assuming it'll come out...which it will)
/e: and jw, by meaning competitively, what do you mean? Like researching articles and stuff? If so, can you link me to some places with reliable build orders I can practice?
Or should I try and make my own Terran build orders? Lately, I've fallen in love with MVP's double hellion expand TvZ, and that's all I've been working on. I figured I'd take it one
race at a time. For TvP I figured a 1 rax siege expand would be safe. and TvT 1-1-1 always seems like a good deal. 2 rax as well.
Doesn't all the pro's have a build they typically do all the time?
There's plenty of players who've worked hard to get from low rank and no RTS background into grandmaster, PuCk is the first guy that comes to mind. He was literally a legit silver player with no RTS background and now he's on ROOT but he spent many hours and thousands of games to do it, that's what it's going to take. It's great to have goals but don't let them get in the way of having fun, when the games becomes super frustrating and you feel like you've hit a brick wall then it's super hard to improve. Generally though, as long as you're having fun and making an attempt to get better, playing a lot and getting coaching is going to be very beneficial.
By competitive I mean I was involved in the "competitive broodwar scene" as a player. I had really high ranks in BW ladder and played for USA national team and was in a professional team.
Just find builds you like, odds are you aren't going to revolutionize SC2 in Bronze so you're best off just trying to learn builds that good players do, why they do the things they do, etc.
