eh, i got raped by some hacker on ladder who did this to me like 4x and beat me 3 times with the same shit, I won when I just ignored it and went 1 gate expand into standard colossus but the guy is like top 15 gm so it's obviously working for him.

It's not balance cry, it's just a really strong build if you do anything but 1 gate expand. I don't think Terran should play 1rax expand style, a lot of Protoss, like me, nexus first a lot and if you open gas you should get a free win. Opening gas but not doing some all in is really strong in general as it doesn't hurt Terran to stay on 1 base a little longer than usual and it leads to some really good timings that Protoss players aren't used to.

well if i would take anyone's rant to heart it'd be yours lol.

but yeah 2 raxing is awesome lol

There's a lot of builds that are like that though, it's a good way to play if you think you're opponent is decent enough to react to what he scouts.

In exchange for my very valuable bump, I'd like to know honestly how long it took you to reach GM. That's like my ultimate goal, to be a pro.

Unfortunately, I'm gonna be going into med school and have lots of studying haha. But hey, one can dream

Anyways, what did you do to reach GM (I'm Terran) and how long did it take you?

Well I played BW competitively for a long time, as soon as I started playing SC2 I was always in the "Blizzard top 200" lists and made it in instantly in the first season of GM. I've probably played much less games than most other top players but I'd say the 8 years of BW made it really easy heh

So basically it just takes time of playing? In other words, if I just play SC2 enough (say as a stress release from studies or something) I'd be a boss at SC3 (Assuming it'll come out...which it will)

/e: and jw, by meaning competitively, what do you mean? Like researching articles and stuff? If so, can you link me to some places with reliable build orders I can practice?

Or should I try and make my own Terran build orders? Lately, I've fallen in love with MVP's double hellion expand TvZ, and that's all I've been working on. I figured I'd take it one
race at a time. For TvP I figured a 1 rax siege expand would be safe. and TvT 1-1-1 always seems like a good deal. 2 rax as well.

Doesn't all the pro's have a build they typically do all the time?
