That is the problem because if Zerg does no damage with those mutas they are behind in upgrades and economy.
Masters is like 5% dude a dead fish could make.

2 base muta is very direct dmg oriented because if u play 3cc and dont overmake hellion, you can defend easily and be ahead, really 2 base muta is done to stop hyper aggressive terrans and hellbat banshee, theyre simply sacrificing upgrades and later third. its like terran doing 8+hellion and banshees, its definitely a direct dmg build. your probably dying because your third is late, or your production is late or your taking too much dmg because u overmake the wrong units. once u see 2 base muta, which all you need to see is the 3rd timing, 730ish, and lack of evo's and roach warren so its not roach, and obv if he has many lings.. all easy tells. you shouldnt be strugging against a zerg pressure build, its not even that good.
