Why are you still replying when you clearly don't know what you are talking about? There was a points system before the current system. I played Starcraft and preordered and picked up SC2 at midnight of the release. Did the same thing for HotS. There has been several changes to the ladder system since the release of SC2.

You do know that your "points" and "bonus pool" don't actually matter, right? Your league is all about Elo, which is a different metric. Well, Elo and some sort of confidence/stability metric. I could explain this using big words and math, but pretty much all of the posters here have already told you. You rank up when the game determines your skill level has sufficiently changed AND has been determined.

Eight games in a row is piss all. The game does not care how you win. It does not care about game length or your score or your APM or any numbers other than whether you win or lose, and the expected outcome of the game (determined, again, by the relative difference in Elos of the players involved). You WILL get promoted when you deserve it. The system is not broken, and no, you aren't the special snowflake exception. You are in the league you belong in, and if you aren't there yet play another 20 games and you will be. The Elo system has been used for DECADES and is incredibly solid.

Yeah I know the point system does not matter anymore, which is my point. This guy said the current ranked ladder promotion system has always been the same way, and it has not. It USED to be based on the point system.

I might be forgetting beta or EARLY release, but at the very least since HotS release the game has not given half of a fuck about points. At best you are being an obstinate prick riding on a technicality simply to spark an argument. If I were you, I'd stop digging myself into a deeper hole.

the ranking never cared what your visible points were since i started, and that was in 2010.

the points have always just been for looks.

That chart is based off of the expected point gain for a player that has attained a specific Elo. Once again, your ignorance is showing.
