I think the largest issue with e-sports is that games can only last small period of time, usually anywhere from 3-10 years before people and fans lose interest and they have to move on to a more updated game.

Is this an issue though, or does it make the industry more dynamic? I find it exciting that new games are constantly in development and will replace one another as metas in the industry shift. This also creates many avenues through which sponsors, advertisers and entrepreneurs alike can monetize the industry. Further, it necessitates complex business strategies and innovations, which are inherently progressive and interesting.

1)  What university?
2)  Income of an average caster/player/how much does a player make streaming a month/can semi-pros actually feed themselves on what they make?
3)  Time distribution for Koreans vs American vs Europeans--are they playing more in-house games?  Are they laddering as much?  What are they doing differently with regards to time allocation?
4)  Who is the most successful SC2 player of all time by average finishing position in tournaments?  Who has the highest rate of taking home the gold?  Who has the best average finishing place in the GSL?
5)  Correlation between APM and win rate among pros?
6)  Correlation between races, win rate, and game duration (or number of bases and win rate)?
7)  Which pro player 1 base all ins the highest percentage of the time in non-mirror matches?
8)  Which race has the best average placement in tournaments?  Has this changed from WoL to HotS?

Great, I appreciate the post. While none of these would work well as topics, they do get me thinking, and some of them will probably be answered along the way (I'm particularly interested in answering Q2).

I'm particularly interested in Q1. Where do you go?

Can I ask why all sports played on machines such as the computer or the playstation or whatever are always talked about collectively under the name 'e-sports', while we only talk about 'physical' sports individually? You never hear people talk about "the popularity of ball games", only about soccer, rugby, baseball, etc. seperately.

Sorry, but I don't see why the specific school is relevant.

Like miniMAX said,

We also talk about particular categories such as racquet sports, water sports, motosports, disc games, etc. Football, baseball, basketball, and soccer are all ball sports, but due to their massive individual popularities there is no need to categorize them together. Because e-sports are new phenomena that are comparatively quite small and significantly less well-known, they can therefore be more simply referred to collectively.

I'm curious as to what your idea of a "top 5" university is.
