less than eight months after graduating high school I was making $70k a year with just my IT certification (seriously). I was basically paid to sit on my ass and look at a computer screen all day not actually accomplishing anything. there are so many lucrative opportunities out there that are wasted and looked over when you join the military. I was making double what my brother was earning after his being in the marines for nearly five years. you waste a ridiculous amount of amazing opportunities by joining the military to open a path to a bunch of mediocre ones.
while america's decision making has been pretty fuckn weak over the last century or so
doesn't mean our soldiers should take the same amount of blame.
lets be honest, just by looking at the suicide rate, they probably don't need you to criticize them
they understand very well whats happening
i know plenty of people that were straightened out because of the military and are much better off because of it
and plenty that work at the stop n shop because they can't get any work after their service
regardless, we should support them anyway possible.
even if its a random day to celebrate them.
this is coming from some1 who hates celebrating anything, fuck birthdays and facebook for making me notice them 24/7
