Well, I played the first 3-4 chapters of campaign, I think it was as terran (those marines etc). I thought it was so ridicilously easy, that I wanted to play some real games (did on normal). But I have no idea about the tactics of SC2, and build orders etc.

Campaign just seemed way too non-challenging :/

take the time and play the campaign, there are many units to learn and it does a decent job of showing you many of the commands. after that choose a race and find build orders. just do what rick said ^^

starcraft is a game that you can play and suck for years if you don't try and learn a few basic build orders

Well, I'm capable of keeping a pretty high APM, if I know what I'm dealing with. From these 2 games, I can conclude that I have no idea which build-order to go for, and how to prioritize my minerals early game. That's my main problem. Mechanically, I was better than both the enemies I faced. They were terrible at micro'ing, and incapable of splitting focus between their units, allowing me to take 1 unit down a time without giving me problems, while I pulled back my low lifes, made them focus a full life and then returned the low life in combat, to continue to deal damage.

At least that's what I know from Wc3, will optimize my damage output in fights :)

generally go for as much economy as you can without dying, knowing this threshold takes a lot of practice and watching pro games learning build orders. check out the team liquid strategy section and look for build orders that are somewhat current.

if you can get a better economy going you will have more stuff, but i'm sure you already know this lol.

Ok guys, I just played some Protoss games against AI. I've won 2 of 2 games. First one was vs Easy I think, this one I think was Medium.

I looked at the scorescreen, and it gives me those stats:
Average unspent resources:
My average: 1324
This game: 1235

Time supply capped:
My average: 1:11
This game: 0:25

Workers Created:
My average: 27
This game: 33

APM:
My average: 33
This game: 36

So I was wondering, where do I need to focus to improve? My APM is not really high, compared to what I think I'm capable of, but I dont feel more is required atm, and as mentioned earlier, I dont know which actions to perform to make a higher APM rate useful.

I find that Team Liquid thing rather confusing, because I dont know most of the terms for this game.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just won vs AI Hard as well.

This game my APM was 42, I created 51 workers (both better than average), but I had average unspent resources on 2351 and time supply capped on 1:22 (worse than average). I forgot to make Pylons at one point, and in the end, I killed both his bases when I didnt use any of my resources at all, cause I just used the time controlling my army and destroying him. Didnt need to use the resources :)
