It's a nydus worm.  You can build them on Lair tech.  You build one in your base then you can place one anywhere you have vision on the map (with valid building spots).  They take a little bit to construct and look like disturbed earth while constructing (see pic).  When construction begins you hear this loud screamy noise, so you know to start looking around your bases for one.
