@ Heat - don't write off playing vs. the AI either. They use fairly simplistic tactics even on Elite, but you'll learn how to keep up with the pace of the game and be able to practice your own mechanics/build orders without worrying too much about the other guy or going into "panic mode"
I have a vs. terran question for you: at what time is it reasonable to expect drops for each unit composition? (MM drop, mine drop, hellbat drop)
and in the case of a hellbat drop, can that be taken as an indication of them teching towards mech, or are hellbats ever used in bio comp?
Hmmmm, im not too sure...I don't really keep track of exact drop times but it's around these...
marines medievacs with stim combat shield is around 8:30-10 mins depending if they get their factory at 6:30 or 7-7:30
4 marine 2 widow mine drop is around 6:50 or 7 mins if I recall correctly (faster ofc if they go gas first)
Hellbats is a bit later than widow mine drops...maybe 8 mins im not sure I never use hellbats tvt (too strong and I dont mech)
And yeah hellbats are an indicator of mech 99.9% of the time..if u see some1 go hellbat drops, just prepare to play against mech, its a safe bet to assume
But anyway to see what terran is doing, scout with reaper and get all the info you need or scan the main base of your opponent at exactly 6 minutes 20 seconds (6:20) and you should be able to see exactly what he's doing and prepare for it
e/ wait...you are zerg??? I thought tvt.
