Why u didnt read the post from Blizzard?

If you get to level 5 on each level you will get the special beta portraits on release day of HotS !

Thanks, I hadn't seen that post.

After looking around, I found a thread on beta leveling issues that explains the problem.

Looks like I will actually have the time to go and get the zerg / terran rewards as well! Can't complain about that.
