I would guess it's because you don't have a video card and are just using the integrated one. Get a new video card and your problems should diminish.

that computer shouldnt lag in sc2 and definitely shouldnt "die" with youtube running in the background

could be a million different things

best way is as u mentioned defraging, u can also just download any free anti vir program and scan ur pc. registry cleaner should also work

radeon 6800 is a bit low-end compared to an i5


The whole rig is kindof slowed at the GPU right now it seems. If your gfx are set to low-med though, you shouldn't have trouble running sc2 with 30+ FPS always


Edit: I take back the "low end" part ... but I'd still want faster than 6850 for med-high gfx. 6850 right now is worth < 100 $




Making sure your RAM is properly setup for dual-channelling is important too .... usually people have 2 sticks of 4 GB

I've currently got 2x 4gb sticks in. I run everything on low, at the start of the game I have 70-120 constant. It's just as the game goes on I dip to 50 then to 30~ and it becomes so brutal it's hard to play. How do I setup my ram? I think I might just grab a new card, not sure which one though

6850 might struggle on ultra in the late game but on lower settings it would run this game fine with hundreds of framerate all game long

although if you have 500$ to spend you could upgrade it if you wanted to

and yeah just a full re-installation of windows
