You scouted second refinery going down before CC, if you were smart you'd realise at that point that he was teching.

Also if you had lings outside his base you'd realise that his expo was extremly late

when you are in this situation you need to start doing shit to defend yourself, what you did was like "yeah i'll build 4 lings and 2 spines, should be super-safe now lol"
