Hey guys. Never posted in this SF, mostly because I retired from SC after first two seasons of SC2.

Why this post? I'm looking to get back into the game and see if I can rehash any old abilities, while playing with people from here that have quality experience.

I played SC:OG and BW for 11 years, and then two seasons of SC2. Played quite competitively in ICCUP and manage to get Diamond my first season playing SC2. Surely these details don't seem necessary, but they are to me. I'm interested in playing with people as I said, that have quality experience. Meaning you hit Masters (which apparently is the new high with GM, so my Diamond was meaningless.) I'll be rusty as shit, need to learn units, common meta/builds, and of course maps. I use to be a random player and probably will continue this path, which is why I need to play with very knowledgeable players. Not looking to be critiqued, because I'll figure out build times etc. on my own, but I do need to know what is strong and isn't. What's viable etc.

If anybody is interested in playing and willing to help a brother get back in the scene, I'd really enjoy that and make a transition back into the game possible. Otherwise I'll fail to commit possibly and only play LoL again. Which is depressing how bored I can get sometimes.

Game is tough now. Lots of broken shit.

I use spawningtool and SALT maps sometimes to be aware of the meta and timings

To be honest the whole "meta" thing is much less important.
What is important is just understand peoples options / knowing your own builds/strategies.

If you scout well and react accordingly, you'll be fine. The whole "meta" thing makes people blind counter things and make bad calls.

the word "metagame" referring to "common builds and strategies" is a result of the LoL community blatantly and repulsively using the word incorrectly

I think when people use it in sc2 they try to refer to "norms".

But, tbh this should just be a guideline otherwise you end up with stuff like "Oh Protoss always makes only Adept so I need X" and instead of scouting/playing smart you make some dipshit move.

Then you lose and go. WOW YOU FUCKHEAD YOU PLAYED LIKE A TOTAL FAG AND DIDNT MAKE ADEPT THAT I BLIND COUNTERED.

In every matchup, for each player, you can find greedy builds and safe builds but usually the end goal is the same and every game relies on good scouting.
