Use OBS and try to test bitrates between 1000-2000. It's also important to make sure your internet is up to par with your stream settings, so do a speedtest and set accordingly. Make sure you set your resolution to either 640x480, 1280x720, or 1920x1080 - the quality being the 2nd half the numbers, 480p,720p,1080p. Oh and before you stream, you will need a stream key, in which you enter into OBS, you can find it at www.Twitch.tv/dashboard.
OBS is awesome, it's by FAR better than xsplit.
