Joe Raynor is the protagonist of a secret unlockable mission available only to users who have linked their SC/SCBW key to the same Blizzard account as their SC2 key. You need to have unlocked the secret hybrid cut scene from SCBW and beaten both WoL and HotS in insane mode. When you go back and play through the first HotS mission on very easy (the intro one where you're Kerrigan) after you beat it the game plays a different cut scene and you go straight into Joe Raynor's mission. You find out that Jim's father, Joe, was one of the marines that made first contact with the Zerg and was killed, which is why Jim signed up with the army in the first place. There's a nice twist ending so be sure to play through it :)

This seemed so fake but so real.
