Hi everyone. I played WoL for a few seasons when it first came out, was a mid-diamond level Terran on SEA server (they hadn't introduced master or grandmaster league yet). I wasn't too good honestly especially microing big armies trying to dodge baneling hits or storms though I considered my macro to be OK.

Then they introduced master league that's when I kind of stopped playing SC2 (the two things are not related) though I played team games just casually and my 1v1 skills slipped a lot.

I bought HOTS a few weeks ago, finished campaign and want to get back into 1v1 again. I still like Terran, and watching Innovation or mvp or Flash play has been a real treat so I'm leaning towards that race. On the other hand I know I don't have the skills to dodge a bunch of storms (I can handle banelings OK) and I don't want to end up with a 10% winrate vs protoss.

Obviously TvP has changed since the introduction of Hellbats makes Marauder heavy compos seem more viable and hence less likely to lose 50 food to a storm, but that's a reason why I'm hesitant to use Terran.

So I think I want to use Protoss since their mechanics are simple but then I have seen very few games on GSL where a protoss can handle swarm host play very well.

And I suck at Zerg.

So which race should I use? Are my fears of Swarm Hosts vs protoss and HT vs terran misplaced?

i very rarely see them

swarm hosts r good for defending and siegeing against another player, good against protoss and mech play of terran mostly

is TvP still protoss favored at the diamond level

its easier for the protoss to win late game lets say against a terran in diamond league as terrans control in diamond is subpar

my terran control is definitely subpar, but wanted to explore if the addition of hellbats, medivac boost and perhaps good ghost usage can mitigate the overwhelming protoss aoe advantage.

protoss aoe is not a balance issue at the top level which the game is balanced at but at my level i get hammered every time. lol

I think I'll try terran and if it is still the same as WOL then i'll switch to protoss.
