First off, I think everyone who has seen me post knows I'm a low level player. That being said here is my issue.

I am having an excessive amount of trouble with PvZ, primarily with fast expand into Roach + Speed ling. I'm trying my very best to never cheese in 1v1s and learn how to actually play the game, however I've just been unable to come up with any kind of answer for this at all. I've searched around online and it seems that it's a very popular build for smashing toss, just not seeing a way for toss to defend it. If anyone knows a good place to find some insight on this or has some of their own, it would be greatly appreciated. PvP hasn't been a problem since I started playing with a diamond toss buddy of mine (get my shit stomped every game, but learn some good fundamentals for it) and my PvT win rate is stupid high right now, just can't beat zerg and it's pretty much only a problem against this build. I do still lose to zerg occasionally in macro games, just not nearly as much as I'm getting my ass kicked here.

Is this off two bases or three?
Either way, I think the solution would be to get an early robo, pump out an observer and be very active in scouting. Immortal production would be critical to stopping this attack, as would a healthy gateway count. The big thing is knowing WHEN it is coming (scouting with observer), because if you see it coming you can add a bunch of extra gateways (maybe even up to 6-8 total gates) and be fine just throwing units at him to support your immortals.

Would you suggest a mix of say zealots+stalkers as apposed to stalk/sent/zealots? I have been starting off with a 2gate/robo expand on this one, I usually have like 4-5 gates and 2 immortals out by the time they come. I have a lot of trouble walling off with sentries against speed lings, usually they do a run by and either smack the shit out of my immortals or force me to choose between splitting my army and possibly loosing the match, or loosing my xpac for sure. Should I just work on microin sentries better to slow down speed lings? I'm fairly good with my mothership core and using timewarp, but that's about all.

Definitely need to work on your forcefields, the big thing is just to use a lot of them and be less picky since this attack will only work against you if it's all at once. If the element of surprise is lost you'll have time to get out extra units and hold just fine, so you'll really only need 1 set of forcefields. If you keep the lings off your immortals and sentries, get guardian shield up around the immortals/stalkers/sentries and then use any extra ff's to block out roaches, you'll be able to crush this attack with 2-3 immortals.

But sentries are really really good, so learn how to use them.

np. Just remember you can sacrifice a lot of stuff if he's doing a 2 base attack and come out way ahead.

I always get scared at that point, if my scouts get taken out and he isn't mass droning and I try to push, I get raped. If he is dronin and he expands and then goes into a contain using mass ling run bys on my 3rd or 4th xpo, i feel like I fall behind so fast. But for now this helps a lot, I can work on this portion of the fight and then worry about getting into that kind of game later. Thank you again man

Honestly, FF split his army on your ramp and GG...very likely he will lose the game because if the all in fails, I doubt they will be good enough/prepared enough to play a macro game. I've realized that when most low level players all in, they literally all in...in the sense that most will not be able to play well at past the 7 minute mark.

You can always try other things like a zealot warp in at his main when you see his roaches moving out around half way across the map; this gives you less power at your base, but may distract/delay his push. If he does push, do work in his base and get ready to drop pro FF at yours :) as always...easier said than done though.

/edit low level players are generally horrible at multitasking/fighting on 2 fronts or in 2 places...if you are good at it, do it...if you are not, practice it.

Mass upgraded air toss can't lose.

Mix in HT's where you are fit.

Good info guys :P , I'll defiantly try the zealot drop next time I see a zerg pushing that early. Never really thought about doing that.
