Hello SC subforum!

I used to play Stacraft 2 WoL when it first came out. I didn't play for very long and had the playing ability of the classic bronze noob.

My bro convinced me to get HotS and start playing again.

I need some information.

Is there a race that's easiest to learn? Or do I just choose my favourite? (Assuming it's best to learn just one.)
Where can I find some decent video tutorials?
Best websites for guides, strategies and openers?

Any general tips for a new player?

^_^

Thanks, but I wouldn't want to take the prize away from someone that needs it.

Protoss is the easiest race so that might be a good race to start off with, but if you don't like them the next easiest would probs be zerg. To get better watch pros play on streams and look up some build orders on this link:

Protoss is the easiest to learn, IMO. At low levels I consider Zerg to be the most challenging to understand due to their unique macro mechancis. I would advise you to play around with all 3 races a little bit.

I'm probably going to start playing Protoss.

Could you recommend some Protoss play streams to watch?

Are there any channels on youtube with some useful tutorials etc?

Try Incontrol, although many people hate him (maybe Minigun if you see him on). He streams regularly, commentates almost all his games, and some people find him funny. He's not the best Protoss, but if you're a low level player, it doesn't really matter if you're watching him stream or MC.

not realy
you somehow not lurn a race, you lurn to control the units of a race
not try to be the best comander of all types of units from 1 race, just pick the ones you like most.
the basic stuf like, anti-stealth/upgrades/econimie/a-clicking-army, not requires you to be a great comander!
ofc you need to know the basic stuf of all races, since you also fighting against them.
i myself like to chouse 1/2 favorete unit, and foccus my gameplay arround it.
like when i just started in wol, i liked void-ray alot, and used a few stalkers as a opening, and a 3-void push as urly haress, followed up bye economie+mass voids, in team games
now i like swarmhost alot, and foccus on lurning to micro it great, and the rest of the army/economie/opening is foccuses on max swarmhost fun!

i can asume someone like storm alot, and have stalkers/forcefields/etc, to support it

I like to watch some broudcasting/steaming
but the information you get, is like....
you can lurn a little how your opponent is thinking,
better think yourself!

yes,
first play vs AI, so you know what units can be build
second you can chouse team games or campain/AI to lurn economie and basics unit control

its recomanded to do some team games:
you see action of 6-8 people at ones
you may finds some great plans from allies!
mistakes are not fitale!
not the same old story, every game
more fun!
