Now that I got your attention I need some advice,

Ive been playing for fun for ages but now I was thinking of settling down with one race. Wich will be the best race for HOTS for somone rather not so pro (or shall I say total idiot) ? Been playing fastest possible maps in SC1 for like 7 years, never played real starcraft since liberty came out.

I wanna flexible race that I can start practicing in team games and slowly move to 1v1 with it. Which would that be ?
My preferences are following: I wanna strike my enemies quickly and effeciently. I dont like long games.

anyways, protoss has some good allins too, so either you go for toss and win ez and fast, or you go terran. but terran is a little bit harder

every game as zerg (unless it's a mirror match) takes at least 20 minutes, 40 minutes vs terran

Play zerg, they have really good early game aggression, especially for team games. You could become a cheese god.

Alternatively, you could play terran, also very good aggressive openings.

DO NOT GO PROTOSS

every game as protoss (unless it's a mirror match) takes at least 50 minutes, 60+ minutes vs. terran.

I saw your stream in other topic. You played zerg.
I played zerg recently to get 1v1 rank. I opened with 6 pool every game to make the first strike painfull and hopefully final one too. Won like 3 games out of 5. I got ranked silver. In those lost games where 6p failed I held my position, build one spine and continue focusing on economy. I was able to expand and fill them in with workers quickly but apart from that I dont have ideas for a long game. I felt like I had more potential in me because for the first time I had only an idea that I can do something more and that im not complete dumbass. But still I rather make quick games that are oriented on turning the odds torwards my victory. I dont have much time to "learn" from the pros - Im not interested in this. I wanna be quick and deadly - if I loose then too bad but I dont like loosing time to a long game where time invested hurts much more when I loose compared to a shorter game.

You suggested protoss, but how can I play quick and efficient with protos ? If you are not talking about cannon rush then prehaps you have a 4 gate in mind - well... Both team games and even 1v1's proved me that 4 gate can be cheesed. Toss is the easyiest to kill with a 6p.

Acording to stats ingame for the team games the best race would be terran because I played most with them and had more success then with any other race, second is zerg and the last is protos. Whenever I play terran I feel that I can be prepared better, safer and confident in offense/defense, long game/short game but I dont feel that they are faster then 6pool or as efficient as speedlings. Why not to go with zerg ?


Whats your idea on becoming cheese god ?

Zerg has a lot of options for early game aggression, if you have good micromanagement and decent enough mechanics to pull them off, keep up with injects and be active on the map I think it would suit your needs.

Personally, I just cannon rush every game.

we had a cheese god here once who's name was Rapdawg

he went to GM by just 6 pooling and 13/13 baneling busting

despite everyone saying that he was bad, i felt like he was a pretty good player actually, solely because he was able to ez the NA ladder with cheese only


and yeah with protoss you can do some pretty sick 2 base all ins vs zerg (immortal/sentry)
or 3gate voidray vs terran

His 6 pool including all his drones attacking as well.

I am suffering because I cannot choose between terran and zerg. Protoss is totaly not an option. TOO SLOW.
