i'd like a thread for this match up because it's definitely my favorite of the expansion, and i feel like the new units adds a lot more versatility to this match up than any of the others.

i'd like to get some zerg input on swarmling play, if possible. it's extremely micro intensive, i'm noticing, but i think it has potential to be devastating on maps with open thirds, or anything that lends itself to multi-prong attacks.

general idea is simple enough

open normal
1/1 melee
swarm hosts
hit 3-4 places at once with swarmling
infestors at home

i saw ret do something like this but he was using mutas, i'd like to cut corners with the mutas because trying to multi-prong and not lose all your mutas to mines probably requires 400+ eAPM during engagements, and i don't think anyone playing sc2 right now can do that.

e: if i can get some replays practicing this style i'll post them in this thread. i've been so out of practice that it's hard to get good games.

Can't even imagine what the fuck to do against this if you are meching, probably leaving the game is the best solution, however it doesn't seem hard to deal with it with bio.

well because it's really only going to work if it's hitting multiple places, you have to rotate between your swarm hosts and leap frog them to avoid getting walked up on. the lings act as a buffer for that to soak/threaten a surround, in theory.

i'll play around with mutas when i'm comfortable with the infestor-favored style first, or if i feel like the infestors aren't working out.

e: obvi it transitions into ultra/swarm late game

really i'm thrilled to find out that the swarm host is much more fun to me than i was expecting, they really lend themselves nicely to multitasking efficiently, instead of the boring turtle unit i was expecting them to be.

that's skyterran, not mech. Going skyterran from the beginning is risky, you will just get raped by hydras, because you will just be able to double the macro of terran, cuz u can't fucking secure shit with skyterran, and 2 base all ins (or well, any all ins) just get wrecked by zerg.
