help me figure out all the small details for this tournament
the community can pick most of these

map pool
format - rick recommended bo1 double elimination with a bo7 finals. would work timewise while still providing plenty of great games
prize pool distribution - winner take all or top 3 split prize? what ratio for 1st 2nd and 3rd?

the brackets will be randomly populated and i might release them friday night so people can see who they're playing against but not have a full 3-4 days to prepare unless you would rather wait until the hour of the tournament to see the brackets

the goal is to have all of this finalized by tomorrow evening so tell me what you want to see

Do BO5 finals. BO7 drags on horribly long.

For the map pool, MLG is always a safe pick. Although if/when I kick off my monthly tournies again, I'll probably pick a random ladder season's maps.

In regards to maps, do one map per round (everyone plays first round on Cloud Kingdom, then everyone on Neo Planet S for round two, for example), then in the finals pick a starting map, then let the loser pick the next map from the whole pool.

Even a BO3 in the finals, because the loser bracket guy is going to have to win twice to win the tournament remember.

If that is a BO5, the finals could be 10 games long, vs 6 max.

Full list of everyone who signed up. If we're missing anyone important I'll make substitutions to this list but after tomorrow I'm not changing it unless someone drops out at the last minute in which case they'll be replaced with a reserve player.

No-shows on the day of the tournament result in walkover wins and will be excluded from the next tournament.
I put a lot of time into this for nothing in return, the least you could do is show up Saturday to play your games

I'll PM everyone tomorrow evening to make sure they can make it and make substitutions as necessary.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you but typically in a double elimination tournament the lower bracket guy has to win bo3 and then either a bo5 or bo7. So in this case if the lower bracket guy wins the first bo3 in the finals then it is just extended to a bo7. No need for two bo5s.

what time will the tourny start?

one of the dudes on the current player list has 5 posts and came from reddit so i'll drop him and add you
