I don't think I'll ever understand tvz. Everything about it is just a question mark to me. What am I missing?

It's usually not macro, because my scv production has gotten soooo much better. Is it unit comp? Is it timing? I have no clue.

I think I make too many tanks. Is it the amount of buildings I have per base? Fuck man, I don't know. I'll post a few replays I have.

your build isn't very good, there's 0 way you should be able to afford 4 rax, engin-bay, gas before your orbital is even finished, your factory is so late that you can't even do any real pressure till 12 minutes cause you have no medivacs, your engagements aren't very good either, your very first attack you were caught unsieged (about 14:00), then again in the center of the map at his watch tower you get caught off guard with your marines all clumped (probably 15:00) you need to have your shit pre-spread, and your tanks pre-sieged, you also make way too many scv, you could have another 20-25 army supply instead of 91 scv

your problem isn't tanks.. you're just always in the worst possible position when he attacks into you, pre split and have your tanks sieged = you easily win that game/do damage on your first push - scan ahead/stim marines ahead to scout

and as for your build, you need to send your scv to your natural at about 270-300 minerals so you can get your cc down right at 400, then a supply right after before you start another marine

oh. during that game, I was thinking while i was playing: "i definitely can't afford half of the shit i'm going for..." lol. so aside from that, my preparing for the battle is the main thing? I guess i'm a little bit impatient because I feel like there is SUCH a small time window when I can attack and when he'll just overrun me. I try to get the damage done ASAP and gtfo ASAP. Idk.

The game on Condemned Ridge:

-Didn't put any pressure on until 1030. Even if you are greedy your going to find it very had to play vs zerg if you do an opening like that.
-Multiple engagements you lost huge amounts of marines fungals. Bio tank you have to be perfectly split and just creep forward or you lose.

The game on Ohana:

-You put this huge investment into marines and end up doing nothing with them again. Try helion banshee opening. It's about the best combination of safe/pushing build you can do.
-Again you got raped by fungals, you were balled up a lot and need to spread perfect to win with that kind of unit combo. Marine tanks extremely fragile. Try mech imo

The game on entombed:

- you held his all in, but always wall off as terran.

Game 1:
You got supply blocked early on. You CANNOT let that happen.
You built a bunch of marines early and did nothing with them.
No reason to have 4 barracks, 3 will suffice. Get a faster orbital on your natural.
Tanks? Anywhere? If you're going marine tank you kind of need the tanks. You had 2 at the 16 minute mark when your army got crushed. You cannot win games on pure marine.
Whole game you just didn't have a good tank count/weren't sieged before attacks so Zerg totally mitigated your armor. It was marines against infestor/ling/bling and we all know how that ends.
Also don't PF your 3rd unless your opponent is being really aggressive. He was passive as fuck so no need to sacrifice the economic bonus of having a 3rd OC for a PF that did nothing.

tl;dr: fucking tanks, build and use them.

Game 2:
good decision putting the CC on the high ground after seeing the drone pressure.
You have no map presence. You don't hold either watchtower or send units out to look around very often. Vision wins games.
Your early attack...you killed some lings then saw like 4 roaches and ran home. Don't go home unless it's an army that will rape yours...you could have easily killed his army + 3rd and possibly ended the game, but you turned around. Remember, at this phase he has NO infestors so you can run away from anything and get home with an intact army even if it starts to look messy.
Once again, low tank count will be the death of you. You have like 8-10 medivacs but 2 tanks at 14 minutes. Use some of that gas for tanks and be content with 6 medivacs.
Bunch of blind towers. Don't do that. 2-3 is okay, you went overboard.
@16, tanks poorly positioned (too far back to hit them), tank count is too low, marines all clumped up. Gotta think ahead for those engagements.
In between attacks you are blind. No scouting, no drop harass, no scans. You can't win if you don't know what he's doing.
Another engage, tanks still unsieged. Gotta tank crawl. Don't unsiege all your tanks to move them, unsiege 1/2 or 1/3, move them up, and then siege those while unsieging another set. This way you are never caught with your pants all the way down.
No marauders vs ultras. Gotta get dem marauders.
