I am a d2 player and want something to do besides that. Played skyrim a bit and got bored after about 40 hours of gameplay. Used to play d3 until it completely sucked balls too. I want to play a game that will engage me, takes skills, is first person pov, and will last me a long time. I'd be playing on mac (inb4ewmac) and mostly casually to start, though if it really suites me I wanna be able to really develop my char post-endgame. Is this the right game?

BL2 isn't much of a multiplayer game. Sure you can play co-op up to 4 people but it's nothing that you will play for hundreds of hours.

Maybe you should try PoE/Marvel Heroes if you like d2. Or another FPS game like Defiance.

BL2 is great tho and if you got money to get the DLC's I'd say it's def worth playing, but no good end-game etc.

Thanks for advice, this is kinda what I want though, just a solid single player game that will take a while to beat.

By good end-game I mean after you reach the lvl cap can you still continue to find better and better items?

I disagree with the above poster...the co op in bl2 is absolutely amazing, tons of fun to play multiplayer. The level cap was raised recently and it will take you a really long time to get to level 61...It's not easy.
