one of the reasons i got this was because I was exited to try to play cooperatively with other people online. I have noticed a lack of online participation and have not even a handful of people that even remotely want to do anything online and half of the time they are off doing their own thing on single player. Dont get me wrong this is by far one of the best games I have ever played but I feel that this game isnt getting the attention or respect it deserves. It could very well just be me. I also would like to question this matter in regards to dlc. Have you all personally found that having the dlc allows open doors if you will for more people to play online together?

In response you your statement,

I believe that if Bl2 is a dying game it is simply because every 1 to 2 months you have to buy extra stuff just to be able to play further or just keep up with everyone. I bought it or PS3 and PC, both for $59.99. I then bought the Mecromancer pack. Now they want us to buy more and more and more.

People get tired of buying new addons to play the same product they bought no more than 5 months ago.

It is not a dying game. If you look at official forums, it's pretty active.

The game is dead to me.

Got everything I need to farm whatever I want, and theres nothing left to do after about 20 hours of play time.

You didn't complete every mission and dlc in 20 hours.
Lie again.

Agreed. If you complete all the missions (including all 109 side missions) on your first playthrough and all the missions in the DLC (currently, 3 available), you'll easily spend over 20 hours and end up around level 38-40. From here, you can easily survive for the second playthrough.

To answer OP's question, I don't think it's a dying game at all. It might be hard to find players online but that might simply be a combination of your level and current mission. If you're level 45, playing normal, and (for example) on the 3rd part of a 5 part mission, then yes, the game won't be able to match you. But if you're level 40, doing True Vault Hunter mode and running main mission, you should have no problem finding players. In fact, if you want to friend me on Steam, i'd be happy to play with anybody. Send me pst.

I always find it difficult to talk about the death of a game that isn't an MMO. Yes, there is a heavy multiplayer aspect to bl2, but most people play games like these with their friends. The pvp in this game isn't super great due to instant kills, and it's mostly just there because it was well known to the devs that friends who play video games together also like to kill each other in said video games. Bl2 is more marketed as a single player game with a multiplayer aspect as opposed to a multiplayer game with a single player aspect. If it didn't flop at release, (it didn't) and a decent amount of the purchasers also buy at least one dlc (don't know stats on this, but everyone I know who has the game also has season pass), the game is a successful enterprise. With all that being said, I think there is still a somewhat active community on the steam forums, as someone else has previously mentioned. Dead game? No. Very successful product.
