i just finished a quest on the top of the raised salt machine in The Salt Flats.

how do i get the machine to lower after i finish the quest?

i just keep falling and dying.

You just killed Flynt, correct? Run back to the other end of where his throne is, and get on the platform and go down the elevator. :)
