DLC only started around 2004. It was the point you get more content if you buy more. Thats the point.
And the predecessor to DLC was disked expansions, which costed money.
Regardless if your paying its still extra content. You cant honestly expect a company who spend thousands on man hours working on the DLC to give it for free.
did you ever play online games before Xbox? because all updates were free. it was either an expansion pack, or it was free.
anyways. i have no problem if they wanna develop new content and charge for it. It's the small updates that should be free that piss me off, and content cut from the original game. stuff like L4D's Crash Course, MW2's map packs, RE5's locked content, Street Fighter 4's locked costumes, etc.
