Borderlands 2’s Mechromancer DLC has a tentative October release date and a definite price.
Speaking at PAX Prime, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford said that the DLC, which adds a new character class to the game, could be with us on October 16th for 800 MSP. For those that pre-order the game the DLC will be free.
That’s in contrast to previous reports that have said we should expect the DLC around 60 days after the launch of the game next month.
The Mechromancer is a female character with a skill tree designed to help less skilled players thrive in the game. It made headlines a few weeks ago after one of the devs referred to it as “Girlfriend Mode.”
Of course, the Mechromancer DLC isn’t the only downloadable content coming to Borderlands 2. Gearbox has a schedule of add-ons, constituting four expansions, that will run between launch and June 2013.
Available separately for 800 MSP, you can guarantee yourself all four of the add-ons by buying the Season Pass for 2400 MSP.
