its an rpg shooter.... shooting the head doesnt automatically kill depending the enemy you are shooting at.

I'm aware of how an RPG shooter works, there are other stats as far as accuracy, critical hits and overall damage done vs total HP. But I'm wondering if its only scaling so high because of the other people (raised difficulty) or if the mobs are too high of a level for them.

yeah most of the time you encounter enemies who are 1 or 2 levels higher than yours. 1 is nothing but 2 can be quite anoying. bosses usually are 3 levels higher than yours, which is why they can be tough is hell.

I have 2 buddies that play it... I guess I'll ask them sense they know me better I'd still like to read some feedback on whether is worth it

At the end of my second playthrough Lance guards were way higher than me.. No shit it took me 10 mins to kill 2 :/

and the addons? or GOTY (comes with all addons?)
was thinking of getting RDR + NM pack

Either get the goty (yes goty includes all addons), which is preferred, because you have way more missions, different items and a higher lvl cap; or get the regular version, and buy the dlcs through xbox live as they are deal of the week till sunday, instead of 800 MSP each, 400 each ^
I never got RDR, so I wouldnt be able to compare.. but both are great games so you cant go wrong tbh

one of my favorite games i have ever played..insane guns rofl

just might have to get it then lol. I just hate getting games that you beat in like 2 days. I liked it on PC, but my PC blows so it was horrible to play on. Only did the starting zone pretty much lol.

u will get a lot of gameplay time out of the game if u try to get a lot of the achievements and try to get to the highest level. it took me like 3 weeks to beat but i also dont play a ton during the week cuz busy with school and other shit, but im on my second playthrough now cuz after u beat it u go to playthrough 2 and all the enemies are higher levels and stronger.. im like lvl 42 or somethign right now.

i also played on singleplayer almost the whole way through the first playthrough cuz i wanted to actually play the game myself rather then having high levels massacre everything for you
