what class would be the easiest? I started as mordecai, but I feel like he dies pretty fast and bosses will be pretty tough. sniping is fun, but so far it seems I can snipe 1 person/monster and then like 5 more get aggrod and start running right at me.
I have been enjoying the game either way, but I am pretty particular about dieing.. D2LoD ruined me... played hardcore ladder for years so now if I die on a character I feel like I failed the game and eventually end up deleting and starting over just to satisfy my OCD

would roland be the best option stacking all my skills into the turret or is that just a waste?
I just started playing yesterday so I only have a couple hours in so if I restart I would rather now than wait until after I invested a bunch of time already.

Modecai and roland are the hardest

Lilith is the easiest to play through with but brick is really good end game

Yeah your right I just came to accept it now and have died several times. I wish I would have went with brick or roland though just to be a little more tanky. I feel like I rarely get to use my sniper rifle anyways which was a big reason I picked him in the first place. I basically snipe 1 guy and then use smg or ar.. I had been using a pistol but shotgun has so much higher damage.. I might switch back to revolver once I find another one that has a scope because it was almost like a snipe rifle in a way.

Borderlands is a game where you can get away with sniping in the middle of combat, so sniper builds are still viable

yeah I started realizing more last night that it can be basically played however you want to I respecced a bit.
one thing I am still confused on is elemental damage..
say I have a weapon that does 250 damage, and another weapon that does 175 but has x2 corrosive.. does that one technically do 350 damage as long as the mob isn't immune to that element?
also for shotguns I see like 40x12.. does that mean 480 damage? or that bullets do 40 damage and shoots 12 pellets?

Play with me. I have a level 20 soldier and I'll talk for you plus play medic roll. Borderlands is easy and any class can use any weapon. The build variations seem endless. It sounds like you might be better suited as Lilith and use a sniper rifle. She has an spectre class mod that boost sniper rifles and stuff. My Roland uses revolvers and machine guns. I'll carry a sniper rifle for some SDM work.

Edit: Actually I use just about every gun in the game except repeaters. Though some of those can be hella good.

Going to beat the game solo first or I would probably take you up on that.
Granted my window to play is fairly random anyways. Wife has to be home and son has to be doing something.. try not to let him see me shooting people in the face with shotguns and blowing up their heads.. will wait until he is at least 3 for that. lol

Nah the x multiplier on elemental weapons is just a chance for it to happen. Ranges from 1-4. It has no impact on damage

just beat the game today. was a little confused with the last hour or so of the game, but glad I finally finished it.

is there really any reason to go through the second playthrough? I started and it seems exactly the same. I guess with the exception I will really be able to use my bloodwing a lot more
also is borderlands 2 with a playthrough?

If you want to get the best gear, play through the second playthrough and grind the armory, if not then nah not really.

Borderlands 2 is my favorite game of all time. Highly highly recommend playing through it and all dlcs, probably going through all of the playthroughs to max level as well
