I just want to convert some of my fg to blizzard $$$ via wow tokens. Do I need to have in game gold to buy a token from the AH to do that? Or can I trade for a token directly and then redeem it? How exactly does player-to-player trading of tokens work (I thought they could only be bought and sold on the AH)?

Pretty sure they just trade you the amount that a token is and you buy it off the AH.

You can do it a few ways

(keep in mind gold right now is usually 1fg:100igg so with the current price of a token at 108,670g you should be able to buy them for 1100 some people trying to over charge for them. )

You can get bnet balance gifted to you but there are some restrictions which you can find here https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/20311 1000fg is usually around 10$ to give u an idea
