lvl 14 gnome mage atm on sulfuras, first time trying wow :)

wondering what my path / locations should be for leveling for the future?

any advice is appreciated, I've watched some AOE blizz guides on youtube, but want to have a better idea of where to focus my attention for each level(s) as I progress

Google leveling areas or just run boring ass dungeons over and over again.

Follow quests around, check out dungeons, spend time hanging out in the city. Idk the actual path for you to take (cuz I'm horde) but you should try and stay 1 level ahead of the quest.

AoE grinding is not a nub activity tho, it's not even an option until after level 23, when you get your second chance frost nova. Running laps on a patch of the same group of mobs is tedious as fuck, and if you have any bad habits it's constantly deadly. You'll spend more time running back from the graveyard than it's worth, at least till level 35+ cause by then maybe at least you'll be gathering decent materials.

Focus your attention at each level to utilizing your tools. Especially those teen levels you should be getting dispel abilities and stuff, figure out when to use them.

Get good at running and drinking - hotkey your water, hit it the second you exit battle - once you get a single tick of mana begin running then drink again.

There's a way to cheese it so you're barely slowed down by drinking, not holding back an instance group due to oom is the best you can do at your level.

You have your instant cast blast ability, and you have your wind up bolt ability. Get good at rotating between the two on single targets.

If you know you're committed to frost spec, work in a rank 1 fire bolt to apply damage over time (DoT)s to your non-target enemies.
Like, say you have 3 enemies. Polymorph the caster, apply rank 1 fireball dots to the second, fire blast the third - ice bolt the third, reapply fireball dots to the second, fire blast the third - ice bolt the third - ice bolt the third - fire blast, re-polymorph the caster, reapply the dots etc.

a nice mana pool and spirit certainly seems to help here too!

run instances, it's lots of fun and good exp. install questie add on to make quests simpler

Don’t expect to clear a zone entirely of quests in one trip, you will jump zones several times before clearing the highest level quests.

A good path imo is:
Race starting zone > Westfall > Darkshore > Westfall(VC) > Redridge > Duskwood > Wetlands > Stockades

That should get you to 30ish , if your leveling solo do quests when they are green, it will be more efficient all things considered. Move on from zones when you have to many orange or higher quests and back to the previous zones with the older quests you left. Ashenvale is also a good option in the mid 20’s but it’s a bit isolated from the other zones.
