Never played it before, clearly, but am interested in giving it a try. Few questions

I believe there are servers, any specific ones I should join? Any more popular than another, does one benefit more than another, ect?

What class would you recommend starting with? Looking for casual playing, not looking to be the best right out the gate.

I signed up for the subscription, to my knowledge this gives access to ALL DLC content/expansions, is this correct?

Is there any information I didn't question here that would be noteworthy? If so, please elaborate.

Thanks guys :)

1. Server is only important for trading / population. You can play with friends on other servers up to heroic raid content. If I were you I'd decide horde or alliance first before picking a server

2. Really this is completely up to you. Whatever you like to play. Some classes have more playstyles to offer but that doesn't mean you shouldn't start as a class that can only dps, if that's the class you think looks fun to you

3. All expansions except the newest one

4. idk but you can pm me if you need help or have questions bud

Except the newest, does this mean I'd have to make a separate purchase for it?

Went with a warlock, don't remember what server.

You will eventually have to make a purchase for the newest expansion. None of that content will matter until you are higher level (100+)

If you want to skip leveling you could purchase BFA and get a boost to 110. I wouldn’t boost until you are 60. Take advantage of learning most of your spells one at a time. By 60 you have most of your spells.

I’d love to help you. Add me, Dan#13780

If you're not super invested in your character yet, I'd restart on a high population realm for your faction

https://realmpop.com/us.html

if you scroll down a bit you can see some statistics on each server relative to the in game factions. I'd pick one predominately populated with the faction you'll be playing. You'll have a better end game experience and it might save you some money down the road.

The link actually isn't that helpful. If you just post if you're horde or alliance I'm sure someone will point out the most popular servers for each

I second this. It helps to find groups and guilds that are your speed.

I won't boost at all. I want to actually experience the game, not skip it. Thanks for this information, I'll definitely give you an add tomorrow(after I learn how to)

Am only level 5 or 6, I went with human warlock so I assume I am alliance? Unsure what the difference is between the two.

If I'll be changing servers, wouldn't that mean I'd be making a new character? I'm not sure what I should be as I have no idea what they are really :P

Yeah human is alliance. As for Alliance I'd personally recommend Sargeras, Proudmoore or Stormrage for a server

Literally play a few classes that you like the look of, get a feel for them play them till level 10 or so.

Go with the one you find the coolest and most fun to play, something that suits your playstyle, melee / ranged etc.

I suggest playing a damage role if you're starting out, every class has a damage spec so things like priest is not healer only, you also have shadow which is damage. The reason i say this is because a healer or a tank the group fully relies on you to keep then alive. Something to maybe look into when you get to grips with the game if that's of interest later.

The biggest advice I can give for wow for the first time is just enjoy it. Don't worry about being the best flavour of the month class or levelling up the most efficient and quick way. Just get lost in the game, explore and see how great this world actually is.
