I wanna go mainly Mythic+ with prot pally.
So what is the best way gear it? DPS or survivability

Survivability, if that means something to you.
Tanks do so little dps nowadays that its obsolete. Go full survivability and leave the dps to the dps classes.
Obviously you dont play much legion or youd know this basics

I am relatively new to Legion but I also know prot pallys can deal a good amount of damage.

for lower mythic + you want dps
for higher mythic + you want survivability

the main thing you change for this is just trinkets.

I am looking to start up again I last played WotLK.
I took am going tank.

Started a Ret Paladin, but after hearing nothing but negatives about the current state, I decided to go tank. Although, not sure how much buffs/nerfs happen now a days.

Is Heals or Tank better for Paladin? Does the class even have a good role at the moment? -_-

all pally specs are currently doing fine
ret can be strong as fuck with the right legendaries
