• You collect artifact power per weapon - not as a collective to spend on each weapon. This is why the items you received for artifact power require "right click to use" - choose the weapon/spec you want it applied to. It cannot be changed... use your power wisely.
• Each trait unlock requires a certain number of points - see the code below for specifics.
• You can "re-spec" your trait points per weapon.
• Relics increase the item level and add a point to an existing trait for your weapon. These act sort of like gems. The first two unlock quickly and the third unlocks at 110.
• If you have an alt spec but don't want to miss out on artifact power towards your main spec weapon, use your artifact power items up to trait 13 on your off-spec. This will give you enough that you're powerful without gimping the main spec. Tier 14 requires as much artifact power as 1 through 13 combined.
Example:
I am leveling enhancement but it is my offspec. I will main spec Restoration for raids. The items I've collected with artifact power have gone towards my enhancement weapon UNTIL I reached tier 13. Now any additional items I get I horde until my bags get too full and then I switch to resto, equip my weapon, and spend them.Code
