Quick question fellow wow players haha. I am having/always had abnormally slow splash screen load times. I am waiting like 10-12 seconds on every splash screen from logging in to changing zones etc. I also get bad screen tearing that drives me insane. My roomate's load screens are literally like 1 second per splash screen and he has no screen tearing at all, just nice crisp images. Neither of us use any form of software to boost game performance. Our specs are as follow.

my PC specs:
I7-5820k
GTX 980Ti (GPU is powering 2x 27" 1920:1080 60hz monitors, but only one is used for wow and the other just forums)
240gb SSD for purely the OS and hardware drivers
1TB SSD purely for games (wow being on SSD)
32GB ram
My pc has fresh format and all hardware is up to date

My roomate is running the following
I7-6700k
GTX 970 (gpu powers 3x 24" 1920:1080 60hz monitors that are all for the game)
32gb ram
With OS on a SSD and his wow folder on a normal 7200rpm HDD.

His monitors are all powered via Displayport, while my gaming (main monitor) runs off DVI-D and the secondary off HDMI (the struggle of not having the right cords and being too lazy to undo all the cable management velcro ties to re-run the same cords)
I would normally assume with having a stronger GPU, CPU, and the game files being booted from SSD it should theoretically be faster. Not to mention the fact my GPU only has to push 1 monitor for the game while he pushes 3 (albeit smaller monitors)

Here are my wow settings (his are on max as well but im not sure his like anti-aliasing and settings like that)

Strange. Try messing with Vsync and Anti aliasing but regardless the only thing I can think of is your display cords. Your machine should EASILY be running at prime performance no tears and also those load screens should be instant like your roommates. Let me see if I can dig anything up.

I appreciate your assistnance bud. Vsynce and aliasing are exactly what i was messing with. I see no reason for his system out performing mine.

if the rest of your computer runs fine, and it's just WoW then it's probably some sort of file error, I know it sounds obvious but clearing all your wow files and completely reinstalling could fix the problem.

Despite just reformatting my PC, I have kind of considered just reformatting again and instead of dragging my wow folder over, just re-installing while at work :S
any other input while im at work today would be fantastic. If nothing else I will just wipe everything again.

you dont need to reformat.... just reinstall wow from scratch

also... since you did reformat before... you downloaded the drivers from nvidia site and not just use the windows update drivers, right? lol
