I've played blizzard games for 15+ years but I've never tried out WoW. I've watched a little of this new Legion on twitch on Liriks channel.

I've liked PvE play for a long time now, PvP isn't something I'd want to do - would you suggest WoW to someone who has never played before?

I know there is boosting and characters you can purchase pre-leveled? I've always been a legit player on all games, I'd level the normal way etc.

Go for it. You could try the trial first, and see if you like the feeling of the game.
But as in any game, playing with friends/guildies makes the game a lot better

Don't get a level boost if you're new...

Legion comes with a free 100 boost
People say you should play from level 1 but new players would end up spending their entire month of playtime leveling and doing quests which are all the same (collect 5 apples/kill 5 guards etc).
Imo its better to just play the starter 1-20 which will give you a feel to the basic stuff and then just use the boost and play the current content.

From what I read the boos was only for pre orders. Not 100% sure it comes with it anymore

Only play if you have a group of friends to play with. Any decent player can pick up the game and do well in PvE especially if u have MMO experience.

As for the PvP aspect, it will be a learning curve. Don't expect to do amazing since majority of top rated players have played this game for a decade. It's not like an fps or moba where u can be good on any game that has those styles.

Lol you don't need a group. Join a guild wtf or solo is even fun since everything is cross server and you can que for just about everything.

And pvp you can do just fine if you practice a lot and know your class. Haha.

it does not take anywhere near a month to reach max level, more like 1-2 weeks, i guess it does depend on class tho, i usually play healers so my que times are fast and i just spam dungeons
