A gathering+crafting is almost certaintly going to the way to go. Read up how Blood Of Sargeras and Obliterum work

I've always enjoyed killing to skinning, as opposed to gathering nodes. Most likely be going skinning + lw. The days of enchanting and jc profits are over :)

Every profession will be good to make gold on. But for starters in the first week crafted gear will be in high demand for people to gear their alts.
