we all know that you can type "/cast spellname" into chat to use that spell. But is there a way that you can assign a macro so that it actives by typing into chat?

There are some macros that I rarely use. Rather than taking up a keybind or space on my screen, I'd like to be able to just type "/aa" into chat as a way to use that macro.

Any way this is possible?

Sounds like a pretty specific question. Maybe you should take a look at a 'real' WoW-board..

afaik there isn't a way to do this as a macro is just a pile of text that you call on that essentially puts the text into your chat box without needing to be typed, you could in theory put it on a bar, then /cast actionbar slot # but that seems like way more work than just activating it like normal. Plus a lot of macros have sequences so youll need to press the button multiple times anyways which would require typing multiple times. All in all it just seems like way more work. You could put them on an action bar then hide the bar and just use the hotkey if visuals are the main issue.
